Analyses carried out by the Israeli regime’s security apparatus have revealed that the armed wing of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement, known as Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, has some 25,000 fighters, including about 2,500 members of the special unit, who are likely still alive and in hiding.
According to the Israeli public broadcaster KAN, the number of fighters from the Qassam Brigades was estimated to hover around 35,000 before the start of the Gaza genocidal war in early October 2023, including around 5,000 members of the special unit.
The figures show that Hamas still holds a significant portion of its military power
KAN noted that Israeli security agencies have recently witnessed an increase in the number of arrests and executions of individuals whom Hamas suspected of spying for Israel and passing sensitive information to the occupying regime.
The executions are reportedly no longer carried out publicly as in the past, but rather secretly to avoid abuse and media hype by Israel.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began have killed 1,123 Palestinians and injured 3,616 others as of Wednesday.
Since Israel's genocide in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed, and over 173,000 injured. Meanwhile, about 90% of the coastal region’s civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.
