A series of new Israeli air attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip have killed at least six Palestinians and wounded more than 20 amid relentless ceasefire violations by the occupying entity.

In the first incident, at least two people were killed in an Israeli drone attack on a vehicle along al-Rashid Street in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza, on Monday.

Separately, two other Palestinians were killed in an attack on a tent sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, near Khan Yunis.

A source at al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that a married couple was also killed in an Israeli drone attack on an apartment in Gaza City.

Overall, the attacks wounded at least 22 people.

The Union of Fishermen’s Committees also said three Palestinian fishermen were wounded by Israeli drone fire off the coast of Gaza City.

The latest killings come despite Israel agreeing to a US-brokered “ceasefire” in October last year.

The latest casualties bring the overall death toll in Israel’s genocidal war on the blockaded Palestinian territories since October 2023 to at least 73,098, with 173,571 others injured.

Israeli army violations of the “ceasefire” have killed at least 1,072 people and wounded 3,463 others since the truce took effect.

Launched on October 7, 2023, with the support of the United States, the Israeli genocidal war against Gaza has also caused significant material damage, destroying nearly 90% of the civilian infrastructure.

The development came as the United Nations General Assembly was holding a plenary session to discuss nations’ responsibility to prevent genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.

In March 2024, the UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, said there were clear indications that Israel was violating three of the five conditions listed under the UN Genocide Convention.
