'US bullying approach'

Iran’s Foreign Minister says the United States has no path forward other than engaging with the Iranian people through respect, justice, and dignity. Abbas Araghchi made the remarks as he addressed recent US threats to intensify economic pressure on the Islamic Republic. He said the economic measures announced by Donald Trump were a recurring scenario, representing the same bullying approach inherent in US policy. Araghchi emphasized that Iran has never been afraid of economic blockades or threats from Washington. He maintained that all US measures—from economic blockades to military actions—have failed and that this latest effort will meet the same fate.

Israel Gaza strikes

The Israeli military continues to carry out deadly attacks on the war ravaged Gaza Strip killing more Palestinians despite the ceasefire agreement with Hamas. Two Palestinians were killed and seven others injured in an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp and the town of az-Zawayda in central Gaza. One of those killed was a child who was standing in a queue to get water. Meanwhile, Israeli drones dropped several bombs on the eastern side of the al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza city. Earlier, Israeli warplanes targeted Deir al Balah city, center of the strip, killing one Palestinian and leaving several injured. Medical sources in Gaza say at least 73,420 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s genocidal war on the enclave began in October 2023.

Humanoid robot games

The Chinese capital is hosting the World Humanoid Robot Games, bringing together more than two-thousand robots from around the world in an Olympic-style showdown. The five-day games feature more than 50 events and over one-thousand competitions, including running, table tennis, football and weight-lifting. Robots from 16 countries, including Germany, Japan and the United States, are taking part. On the opening day, Chinese robots broke several human records, including the 100-meter sprint record by Jamaican retired runner, Usain Bolt. China’s rapid advances in robotics and artificial intelligence have raised concerns in the United States. Last month, Washington announced a ban on imports of new foreign-made humanoid robots, particularly from China, citing security threats. Beijing hit back by imposing sanctions on a number of American firms.
