Iran’s integrated air defense network destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone over the southwestern region of the country, the Iranian Army’s public relations office announced on Monday.
“Hours ago, a hostile enemy reconnaissance drone was destroyed by the systems of the integrated air defense network, under the command of the country’s joint air defense headquarters, in the southwestern region,” the statement said.
The type of drone and the exact location of the incident were not disclosed.
The downing adds to a long list of aerial victories achieved by Iran’s air defense forces since the US and Israel launched their war of aggression on February 28.
In the early weeks of the war, Iranian air defense units destroyed over 170 hostile drones, including MQ-9 Reapers, Hermes and LUCAS models, along with dozens of cruise missiles.
Since the war began, Tehran has reported to have shot down multiple F-15s, F-16s, F/A-18 Hornets and at least two F-35 stealth fighters.

The latest downing comes as tensions remain high after a 40‑day war of aggression launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28.
The aggression included the assassination of Iran’s Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and strikes on nuclear facilities, schools and hospitals.
Iran’s armed forces responded with 100 waves of retaliatory strikes under Operation True Promise 4, launching hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones, against American military bases across West Asia and Israeli positions in the occupied territories.
A Pakistan‑brokered ceasefire has been in place since early April, but the US naval blockade of Iranian ports remains in effect.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that any violation of the country’s airspace or territorial waters will be met with a decisive response.
