Judiciary chief congratulates new secretary of Supreme National Security Council

Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei

Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei has congratulated Mohsen Rezaei on his appointment as the new Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).

In a message, Ejei described Rezaei as an experienced figure who has consistently served the country by drawing on his revolutionary principles and experience in various fields.

He added that, with the Leader’s approval, Rezaei has assumed a position that is “at the forefront of safeguarding national interests and confronting cross-border threats in the era of the enemies’ hybrid warfare.”

Ejei expressed hope that Rezaei, relying on his “jihadist spirit” and with divine assistance, would follow in the path of the prominent martyrs of this cause and contribute to strengthening the Islamic Republic’s power and independence.

He further expressed hope that Rezaei would help advance the system’s strategic objectives, strengthen its strategic depth and enhance the efficiency of the country’s security structures.

Ejei wished Rezaei “success and victory” in his new roles as the Leader’s representative to the Supreme National Security Council and secretary of the council, and thanked former secretary Brigadier General Mohammad Bagher Zolqadr for his efforts and services.

Ali-Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser on international affairs to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, also congratulated Rezaei on his appointment as Secretary of SNSC, saying his strategic outlook and revolutionary spirit will help safeguard Iran’s national security and interests.

In his message, Velayati said that, based on his long-standing acquaintance with Rezaei, he is confident that Rezaei's strategic perspective and revolutionary spirit will provide a strong foundation for protecting Iran’s security and national interests.

Velayati also wished Zolqadr continued success in his future responsibilities, praising the valuable experience he has gained in various fields over the course of his career.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei appointed Mohsen Rezaei as his representative to the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Iran’s highest national security decision-making body.

In March, Rezaei was appointed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, as a senior military adviser.

His appointment comes as tensions between Iran and the United States remain high, with Washington continuing to escalate in brazen violation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two sides to end the third imposed war.

Iran and Oman are also currently engaged in negotiations over the management of the Strait of Hormuz, with Tehran urging an end to US interference in the strategic waterway.

In a social media post on X last week, Rezaei warned that if the illegal US blockade continues, American vessels and forces will face serious risks and casualties.

He also ruled out opening a second corridor under US pressure in the strategic waterway.
