Iran after fugitive US soldiers, commanders in region: IRGC

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran will go after US soldiers and commanders who have escaped their bases in regional countries following Iran’s devastating attacks.

The spokesman of the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters said on Wednesday that US soldiers and commanders have been sheltering in various hideouts in the countries of the region since Iran demolished many of their bases in those countries.

“We ask the people of the region’s countries to report their whereabouts, and at the same time, for their own security, to demand the expulsion of Americans from the region,” Ebrahim Zolfaghari stated.

No return to previous arrangements on Hormuz

In a separate message, Zolfaghari said the US is desperate to hold talks with Iran to force an end to the current confrontation and to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway in the Persian Gulf which has been tightly controlled by Iran since the start of the US-Israeli aggression on February 28.

“Listen carefully. Just as desperate as you are to avoid a prolonged war, the resilience of our nation and the strength of our armed forces grow stronger with each passing moment,” he said.

“The situation in the Strait will not return to what it was. Whatever we decide to happen will happen. With trust in God, the path is closed to the oppressors and their allies.”

He said Iran has a “clear, transparent, and explicit” rule for allowing transit through the Strait: that anyone associated with the enemies will have no right of passage and that the authority to grant passage permits rests solely with Iran.

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, said on March 24 that he was considering holding talks with Iran to end the ongoing confrontation which many believe has put him in a very precarious position.

That comes as he has repeatedly claimed victory since launching the joint aggression with Israel against Iran.

Sources told Press TV on Wednesday that Iran had rejected a US offer for talks and its conditions, saying the country has its own conditions to end the war, which includes a full stop to the aggression and concrete guarantees that it will not happen in the future.
