Qalibaf says advanced homegrown missiles with a strike radius beyond the Persian Gulf have been employed in the IRGC’s recent naval drill, codenamed Shahid Mohammad Nazeri, in the Persian Gulf waters.

Hosting the Sahand-2025 drill highlights Iran’s use of SCO integration, regional cooperation, and counterterrorism experience to position itself as a pivotal actor in the emerging Eurasian security architecture.

The final stage of the five-day Sahand-2025 counterterrorism exercise takes place in the northwest of Iran, with units from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization taking part. 

The IRGC chief commander says the elite force is ready to share its counterterrorism experience with the SCO states with no limitation.
