Slamming US warmongering

Iran has vehemently condemned the United States continued threats to use military force against Tehran, vowing a decisive and proportionate response to any aggression. Iran's UN envoy issued the warning in a letter to the UN secretary general, Antonio Guterres, and the president of the Security Council. Amir Saeid Iravani said US President Donald Trump's anti-Iran threats constitute a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law, and risk plunging the entire region into crisis and instability. He added that a possible military aggression against Iran will also pose a grave threat to international peace and security. Iravani said Iran has repeatedly stated that it neither seeks tension nor war, and will not initiate any war, but will respond decisively and proportionately to any aggression based on its inherent right to self-defence. Iran's envoy stressed that in the event of a military attack, all bases, facilities, and assets of the hostile force in the region would be considered legitimate targets in the context of Iran's defensive response. Urging the Security Council and the UN chief to act without delay, Iran's envoy said the council must not allow threats of the use of force, and acts of aggression to be normalized, or be used as instruments of foreign policy.

Israeli restrictions on Ramadan prayers

On the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are facing Israeli restrictions on access to the al-Aqsa mosque in al-Quds. Hundreds of Palestinians are sent back at checkpoints as they want to reach the holy site to perform Ramadan prayers. The Israeli regime earlier said that it only allows ten thousand Palestinians to enter the Al-Aqsa mosque for the Friday prayers. Israeli authorities added that they allow entry for men aged 55 and older, women aged 50 and older and children up to age 12 accompanied by a first-degree relative. The Israeli military has increased deployments and tightened restrictions across the occupied al-Quds.

Rejecting Trump's 'Board of Peace'

US police in Washington DC have arrested pro-Palestine protesters during a demonstration outside Trump’s "Board of Peace" event. Some of the protesters were wearing masks resembling President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The demonstrators denounced Israel for the genocidal war on Gaza and the U-S complicity in the genocide. Criticizing the so-called Board of Peace, the protesters said the initiative benefits colonizers and billionaires. Trump’s plan has drawn widespread skepticism. Many countries have refused to join the board.
