Iran's defensive power

A senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has reiterated Iran's unwavering position on its defense capabilities, stressing that they are not open to any negotiation. Ali Shamkhani made the remark in an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news outlet. He emphasized that Iran's missile capabilities “are part of the country’s defensive deterrence system,” which are considered as a red line, and cannot be a subject for any negotiation. He noted that negotiations with the United States have their own course. Shamkhani asserted that nuclear talks with Washington can lead to acceptable outcomes if they are pursued through a realistic approach and based on mutual respect. He noted that Israel is making a persistent attempt to derail the conflict resolution process from dialog, and return it to a cycle of conflict and confrontation. Shamkhani emphasized that whenever a window of opportunity for a political solution opens, Israel seeks to escalate tensions and create further turmoil.

Larijani's Qatar visit

Iran’s top security official has dismissed some media reports claiming that Tehran has delivered a message to Washington during his visit to Oman. Speaking to Iran’s state television, Ali Larijani said no message or letter has been conveyed to the United States through Oman. He, however, noted that Omani officials relayed written viewpoints from the American side to the Iranian delegation. Larijani said no date has been set for the next round of Iran-US talks, though both Tehran and Washington are willing to continue negotiations. In an earlier interview with the Qatar-based Al Jazeera network, Larijani confirmed that indirect talks with the US are ongoing. He noted that Israel is attempting to sabotage negotiations between Tehran and Washington and is seeking pretexts to ignite a war. Larijani warned that any American attack on Iran would be met with strikes on US bases in the region.

Gaza 'board of peace'

A Senior Hamas official has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s participation in the so-called US-backed Gaza Board of Peace. Osama Hamdan described the move as “the farce of our time,” noting that Netanyahu is wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court. His remarks came after Netanyahu signed an agreement to join the Board during his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and ahead of his meeting with President Donald Trump. Hamdan said the Palestinian people reject any form of external guardianship, emphasizing that no international force can replace the Israeli army in Gaza. He asserted that the role of any potential international force should be limited to deployment along Gaza’s borders to separate the territory from Israeli forces and protect civilians. He also touched on the resistance’s weapons, saying Hamas has not received any official proposal from mediators concerning the disarmament. He said Hamas’ position on disarmament remains unchanged, and no formal decision has been adopted to freeze its weapons
