Millions of pilgrims from across Iraq and around the world have converged on the holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arbaeen, the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein.
Many say the annual pilgrimage is not only a religious gathering but also a renewed commitment to the values of justice, unity and resistance against oppression.
