Response to aggression

Iran's foreign minister has warned that any new US or Israeli military aggression in cooperation with regional countries will be met with a decisive and proportionate response from the Iranian Armed Forces. Abbas Araghchi was speaking in a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan. Araghchi said Iran is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security. He stressed that those responsible for such acts of adventurism will be responsible for all the consequences. Earlier, Iran’s top diplomat held separate phone calls with Pakistan's Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan. During the talks, Araghchi discussed the latest regional developments and Washington’s destabilizing actions in the region with the other sides. He reiterated that Iran is fully prepared to defend itself and give a firm response to any act of aggression.

Condemning US aggression

Iran has strongly condemned the brutal acts of aggression committed by the US in cooperation with Israel and some regional countries, stressing that it will use all available means to exercise its inherent right of self-defense. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said the continuation of the US naval blockade is a clear example of an "act of aggression," while brutal attacks on military and civilian targets, and Iranian citizens inside and outside the country constitute a gross violation of the UN Charter. Referring to the US role in making the Strait of Hormuz insecure, the ministry added that the Americans used an alleged attack on three ships as a pretext to justify their renewed aggression against Iran. It said the UN Security Council and its secretary general have so far failed to take any effective measures and fulfill their responsibilities in the face of US-Israeli aggression. The ministry emphasized that Iran has no hostility toward regional countries, and seeks friendly relations based on mutual respect with the Persian Gulf littoral states. It added that Iran's legal strikes on bases from which the US conducts its illegal attacks, cannot be considered as attacks on regional countries hosting those bases.

Israel lebanon aggression

The United Nations has expressed concern over Israel's ongoing demolition operations in southern Lebanon, which violate the ceasefire agreement between the two sides. The office of the UN special coordinator for Lebanon said in a statement that the scale of detonations and demolitions taking place in southern Lebanon is deeply concerning. It added that Israel’s demolitions have a devastating impact on Lebanon’s civilian infrastructure, cultural heritage, and the collective memory of communities. The UN office said Israel’s escalating pattern of destruction in southern Lebanon must stop as diplomatic channels exist to resolve any outstanding issues. The statement came just a day after Israeli forces carried out large overnight detonations near Lebanon’s Beaufort castle, which is now on UNESCO’s List of World Heritage in Danger. The regime claimed that it targeted a tunnel belonging to the Hezbollah resistance movement. Lebanon's National News Agency has reported several detonations in other parts of the south, some so powerful they were heard across the area.
