Gaza health crisis

The World Health Organization has issued a stark warning about the situation of the health sector in Gaza following two years of the Israeli genocide. According to the world body, 18 out of 36 hospitals and 43 percent of primary health centers in Gaza are partially functioning. According to WHO, there are no MRI machines available in the war-torn territory, and only two CT scanners are there to cover a population of over two million. It added that there is a severe shortage of essential medicines and medical supplies needed to treat many diseases, especially heart and kidney diseases, as well as intensive care surgery. The organization said it is facing challenges with bringing laboratory materials and critical lab machine components into Gaza, because Israeli forces prevent entry of many items, by classifying them as “dual use.” WHO said Gaza’s humanitarian crisis is worsening amid severe flooding and storm. It said thousands of civilians are sheltering in coastal areas with no drainage or protective barriers, and more than four-thousand people are living in high-risk areas.

‘US not trustworthy’

The Iranian foreign minister has reiterated that the Islamic Republic does not seek war and is willing to solve all the existing problems through diplomacy. Abbas Araghchi was speaking in an interview with Aljazeera Documentary Channel. He also touched on the United States’ efforts to obstruct talks on Iran's peaceful nuclear program by demanding Tehran fully stop uranium enrichment. Araghchi said Iran never trusted the US as an honest negotiator. The top diplomat stressed that the US has never been honest about anything, and nobody can fully trust the United States. Araghchi also referred to rumors about the possibility of a new Israeli attack on Iran, calling them part of a psychological warfare to create panic in the country. He noted that Iran does not totally rule out the possibility of another aggression, but its armed forces and people are fully prepared to defend the country under any conditions.

President Donald Trump said he was briefed on the shooting, adding that the FBI is present at the scene.
