US Iran aggression fallout

The US Army has used up much of its global stockpile of highly accurate long-range missiles during its five-month war of aggression against Iran. This, according to a new report by Western media outlets, citing three people familiar with the data. The report said major missiles whose stockpiles have been nearly depleted, include Army Tactical Missile Systems and Precision Strike Missiles. The sources added that the US army has used "virtually all" of these weapons during the war on Iran. It noted that the dramatic rundown in precision, long-range missiles means the US may have to rely more on riskier, piloted bombing missions if it decided to re-launch large-scale attacks on Iran. The new revelation came after another report published last week estimated that between February and July about 65 percent of Patriot interceptors were expended. It added that the number of THAAD ballistic missile interceptors in US stockpiles was at least 38 percent lower than at the start of the war. The US has also burned through a little less than half of its global supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles, which are generally launched from ships, since the start of the war.

Israel Gaza ceasefire violations

Palestinian officials in Gaza say Israeli forces are systematically violating the ceasefire agreement in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and UN resolutions. Gaza’s Government Media Office said in its statement that its teams have recorded ongoing Israeli violations since the ceasefire started. The office noted that statistics obtained so far reveal a deliberate plan by Israel to prolong the aggression and worsen the humanitarian situation in Gaza. According to the office, Israeli forces have breached the ceasefire deal more than 4,000 times since it took effect. The regime’s violations include land, air, and sea attacks, as well as direct targeting of residential neighborhoods and shelters for displaced people. It added that Israel’s violations have so far left more than 1,200 Palestinians dead, most of them children and women, while injuring over 4,100 others. It urged the UN, the Security Council, and rights groups to move beyond rhetoric and take concrete actions to curb Israel’s aggression against the people of Gaza and hold the regime accountable for its crimes.

Brazil-US tensions

Brazil has condemned the United States’ move to revoke the visa of its ambassador to Washington, as the diplomatic standoff between Brasilia and Washington deepens. The office of President Lula da Silva said in a statement that the US decision is not an isolated incident, but part of a deliberate escalation of hostile measures against Brazil, which is motivated by ideological reasons. The statement added that Washington’s move has made it clear that the US is interested in interfering in the country's upcoming presidential election. The statement came after the US revoked the visa of Brazil's ambassador in Washington over Brasilia withholding formal diplomatic approval of the Trump administration's appointed ambassador. Brazil had earlier refrained from issuing visas for several US diplomats. Last Wednesday, Lula said at an event that visa requests for two Trump administration officials were rejected because they planned to travel to Brazil to meddle in the upcoming presidential election, which is scheduled for October.
