Genocide, starvation in Gaza

More Palestinians have lost their lives in fresh attacks on the blockaded territory. At least 33 people, including aid seekers, have been killed since early morning on Wednesday. In one of the latest attacks, three displaced Palestinians were killed when a tent was hit in the southern city of Khan Yunis. In central Gaza, a teenage boy lost his life following an Israeli airstrike on Deir al-Balah. Meanwhile, Gaza health ministry reported that 10 more Palestinians have died due to famine and malnutrition, bringing to 313 the total number of victims of Israel’s starvation policy. The death toll from the genocidal war since October 2023 has surpassed 62,800, with over 158,600 others injured.

Attack on Nasser hospital

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has dismissed as entirely baseless Israel’s investigation into the recent strike on Gaza’s Nasser hospital that killed nearly two dozen people, including five journalists. Hamas rejected Israel’s claim that the strike was aimed at a camera positioned by the resistance group in the area of the hospital to observe the activity of IOF troops. Hamas described the allegation as a false claim with no credible evidence, which is aimed at evading legal and moral responsibility for a full-fledged massacre. It also condemned Israel’s repeated claims that Hamas uses hospitals for military purposes, saying they are actually excuses for systematic bombing of medical facilities. The Palestinian movement also rejected as a lie Israel’s claim that six Hamas fighters were killed in the attack.

US-Denmark Greenland dispute

Denmark summons the US envoy over reports that several American citizens have conducted covert influence operations in Greenland. Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said the top US diplomat is summoned as Denmark seeks a rebuttal or further explanation in response to the report. He added that any attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Denmark will be unacceptable. The Danish government believes that the US citizens who carried out the influence operations in the Arctic island, were in connections with President Donald Trump. This comes as Trump has reiterated his desire for the US to take control of the mineral-rich island, citing national and international security concerns. He has also failed to rule out the use of force for the possible takeover.
