Iran Hormuz Strait control
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says the strategic Strait of Hormuz will not reopen before the US accepts Tehran’s conditions. The general added that the war with Iran is actually the only military confrontation where the US is accepting defeat without any achievements. Mohebi said the strategy of Iran remains endless resistance to beat the enemy, which he said the Islamic Republic pursues as its unalterable strategy. Earlier, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen until the US corrects its behavior. Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr said Washington must stop threatening Iran and permanently end aggression against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq. He also demanded the lifting of the naval blockade, withdrawal of US military forces from around Iran and removal of the unjust and illegal sanctions on the country. Zolghadr further urged full compensation for the damage caused to Iran by the two imposed wars and unconditional release of Tehran’s frozen assets.
Iranian nation steadfastness
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran remains steadfast on its pledge of resistance despite all pressures, adding that the country stands firm in the face of injustice and oppression. Araghchi noted that the Iranian nation will keep the promise it had made to the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The foreign minister said the country will neither forget nor forgive atrocities committed against the Iranian people in the US-Israeli war. He added that Iran will not allow the blood that was unjustly shed to be forgotten or ignored.
Yemen retaliation
Yemen’s armed forces have launched a drone strike on a facility belonging to Saudi oil company Aramco. Spokesman for the armed forces, Yahya Saree, says the attack on Jazan oil refinery was a response to the Saudi violation of Yemeni airspace in the provinces of Saada and Hajjah. The Saudi energy ministry earlier reported a fire at the facility without mentioning the circumstances. The ministry said the fire was later brought under control and left no casualties. Jazan refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil a day. Aramco shut down the refinery on July 27 following another retaliatory attack by Yemeni armed forces. Yemeni forces have been launching strikes on Saudi Arabia since the kingdom resumed its airstrikes on its southern neighbor last month.
