Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has placed a premium on the need to secure Iran’s conditions for ending the war and the state of “neither war nor peace.”

During a meeting with Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ayatollah Khamenei said the SNSC and its secretariat act as a “crossroads of policymaking.”

The Leader underscored the interconnectedness of culture, politics, economy and security. He said it was imperative that their mutual effects be accounted for in decision-making, his office reported on Tuesday.

He said sound and firm decisions require a comprehensive roadmap that takes into account every stage of an action, from its starting point to its conclusion.

Other key issues discussed included strengthening national cohesion and unity, building mutual trust between the public and officials, and using the constitutional capacities to help the president and executive bodies resolve Iran’s problems more efficiently.

The meeting also addressed protecting national and regional security through the management of the Strait of Hormuz and strengthening relations with neighboring countries on the basis of lasting mutual interests.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemy’s desperation was an outcome of Iran’s national resistance. He also emphasized the need for timely and proactive public communication to sustain popular participation in defending the country and the political system.

He called for efforts to secure the rights and interests of the Iranian people and the Resistance Front through the fulfillment of conditions announced by Iranian officials for ending the war and the “neither war nor peace” situation.

During the meeting, General Rezaei presented a report on the situation across various sectors in Iran and the measures being pursued. He said one of the key initiatives underway at the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council was advancing the Islamic Republic’s strategy of establishing “endogenous regional arrangements.”

The United States and Israel waged their first criminal war against Iran, which lasted 12 days, in June 2025. Their second aggression began on February 28, 2026, and came to a temporary halt in early April after 40 days.

In both wars, Iran’s resistance and decisive retaliatory operations forced the aggressors to accept a ceasefire.

Iran has also maintained a tight grip on the Strait of Hormuz since the early days of the second imposed war.

In July, the United States conducted waves of deadly air raids on Iran and imposed a naval blockade of the country in violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Republic, signed on June 17, to end the war.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces launched devastating strikes against strategic American targets across West Asia and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic.
