Iran's deputy parliament speaker, Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, says the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have been acting as regional contractors for the Israeli regime and its Zionist allies, warning the governments of both countries against any mistake that could cost them their entire rule.
Haji Babaei made the remarks on Sunday during a virtual session of the Iranian parliament, where he reiterated that Iran will continue its blockage of the Strait of Hormuz to cut the energy and commodity lifeline of the United States, the Israeli regime and their regional allies.
"The smallest mistake by regional countries in assisting the US and the Zionist regime will bring about the tragic tale of life and death for (their) incompetent rulers," he said.
Iran has tightened its control over cargo transit in the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf in recent weeks, months after it decided to impose restrictions in the strait in response to a joint US-Israeli war of aggression against the country.
Despite repeated attempts by countries like the UAE and Bahrain to help the US get around Iranian restrictions, international energy and commodity prices have risen significantly because of the blockage in the strait, pushing up voter dissatisfaction in the US ahead of key midterm congressional elections in November.
In his Sunday remarks, Haji Babaei warned that the US is sinking deeper into the Persian Gulf quagmire, adding that Iranians are waiting for American forces to drown in the "raging seas" of the region.
He predicted that Trump will suffer a major defeat in the US midterm elections, saying the defeat "will be the end of the dark era of global arrogance and political thuggery."
