'Tehran for diplomacy'

President Pezeshkian says Iran has never shunned dialogue and will not do so but it will continue to defend its rights. Addressing economic figures, Masoud Pezeshkian said the US must give up the illusion that it can bring Iran to its knees through assassinations. He said the Americans and Europeans did not imagine that Iran could survive under wartime conditions. The president noted that the US and the Zionist regime sought to destroy Iran, but they faced all-out resistance from the people, officials, and armed forces, that disrupted their calculations. Pezeshkian also emphasized economic diplomacy, saying that interactions with neighboring countries have increased. He said exports and imports can be expanded through land borders with Pakistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan despite maritime limitations.

IRGC anti-terrorist operation

The IRGC has dismantled a terrorist cell in the southeastern city of Zahedan, killing six members and foiling a planned attack. The Quds Base of the IRGC Ground Force said the cell was identified early in the morning through intelligence operations and locals' tip-offs. Security forces raided the group’s hideout in the Manzel-Ab area, killing six members of the Takfiri terrorists and seizing several explosive devices. The cell was planning a terrorist attack in the area. The IRGC forces are clearing the area of any remaining terrorists. The operation came amid intensified counter-terrorism efforts in Sistan and Balochistan province, bordering Pakistan that has witnessed repeated terrorist attacks targeting civilians and security forces.

France crisis meeting

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has chaired a crisis meeting over intensifying high school protests, as clashes between students and security forces spread across the country. The student protests, which began about a week ago in the Paris region, have expanded to cities including Lille, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Lyon. The students protest teacher shortages, overcrowded classes, timetables and poor learning conditions, including overheated classrooms during recent heatwaves. The demonstrations have included blockades of high schools and clashes with security forces. Teenagers set fire to rubbish bins and threw projectiles at security forces who responded with batons and tear gas. Officials say over 600 people were detained on Wednesday and nearly 1 hundred 20 students and staff have been injured since the unrest began.
