US withdrawal from Iraq
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps hails the complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq as a historic victory, describing it as the beginning of Washington’s departure from the West Asia region. In a statement, the IRGC said the withdrawal was the result of the Iraqi people’s resistance and their determination to preserve national independence. It described the move as a major achievement for the resistance front and a blow to the US occupation in the region. The statement said Washington contributed to insecurity, terrorism, and instability in West Asia during its two decades of military presence in Iraq. It also said the US withdrawal marked the first step toward the eventual removal of American forces from the wider region. The IRGC praised Iraqi resistance groups, popular support, and the Iraqi government for contributing to the withdrawal. It warned of possible US-backed attempts to create renewed instability in the country. The IRGC also reaffirmed its support for regional resistance movements and called for the removal of both US forces and Israel from West Asia.

A funeral and burial ceremony has been held in Gaza City for 105 Palestinians. The victims were killed in an Israeli attack that took place in 2023, and their bodies have recently been recovered from beneath the rubble of residential buildings.
Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions
Pakistan has conducted fresh airstrikes on Afghanistan, killing at least nine people. The overnight strikes were reported in the southern provinces of Helmand and Kunar, which border Pakistan. 11 people were also injured in the attacks and three homes were destroyed. Pakistan’s information ministry says terrorist camps and hideouts at two locations were hit inside Afghanistan. The Taliban government, however, says the victims were all civilians. The strikes come amid escalating tensions between the two neighbors over cross-border militancy. Islamabad says militant groups opposed to the Pakistani government use Afghan territory to plan and launch attacks inside Pakistan.
