‘Stop your crocodile tears’: Araghchi hits back at French FM over human rights allegations
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has hit back at recent claims by his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot accusing Iran of human rights violations, criticizing Paris for its silence over the killing of Iranian schoolchildren by the United States.
Addressing Barrot in a post on X, Araghchi said, “1.5mn Algerians were slaughtered by France in their War of Independence. Less than 1/10 of them have been recorded by Paris, which refuses any apology for its colonial crimes.”

Arahgchi was referring to the February 28 air raid on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab in southern Iran, which was carried out on the first day of the US-Israeli military aggression against the Islamic Republic and is considered the war’s deadliest attack on civilians.
The assault killed 168 people, including 120 students and 26 teachers. More than 110 people were wounded.
Investigations indicate three precision-strike Tomahawk missiles hit the school. The school was struck three separate times.
On Thursday, a United Nations Independent International Fact-Finding Mission concluded there are “reasonable grounds” to believe the US committed war crimes during its war of aggression on Iran, citing indiscriminate attacks that resulted in massive civilian casualties, including the devastating strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School.
