Speaking from the Red Fort, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the need to build India's capabilities as the country looks to accelerate its development.
A nation becomes great and achieves its aspirations when it moves forward on the strength of its dreams, its resolve, and its capabilities.

India has expanded domestic production of warships, missiles, and other military equipment while seeking to reduce its dependence on foreign defense technology.
First and foremost, this aspect of total Atmanirbhar Bharat, and that Atmanirbhar Bharat is primarily with the view that we should not be found dependent on critical technologies on countries at a time when we are in need of that particular technology during war.

Till and unless, a country is almost fully dependent on its own manufacturing capabilities it will be very difficult to be able to face a long-drawn war.
