Iranian intelligence forces have successfully dismantled four Takfiri militant cells affiliated with the Israeli regime in the country’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan.

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced in a statement on Tuesday that 19 members of the Mossad-linked cells were detected and captured following a series of intricate operations.

They were planning to carry out acts of terror and sabotage, but were arrested before they could conduct any, it said.

The statement added that the intelligence forces managed to recover a considerable amount of light and semi-heavy weapons, including a DShK M1938 heavy machine gun, an RPG-7 anti-tank grenade launcher and seven related grenades, five Kalashnikov assault rifles, six pistols and a large number of related bullets, two military binoculars, a crypto miner, and a stop sign from the militants’ hideouts.

The Intelligence Ministry noted that the arrestees were non-Iranians who were recruited by Takfiri terrorist groups based in Iran’s eastern neighboring countries and had received training on how to conduct bombings.

They sneaked across the border into Iran and were planning to launch acts of sabotage, assassinate local officials, and carry out terror attacks in the southeastern part of Iran.

The province of Sistan and Baluchestan, which shares a border with Pakistan, has experienced numerous terrorist attacks aimed at both civilians and security personnel in recent years.

Terrorist organizations conducting assaults on Iranian interests in the southeastern and southwestern regions of the nation are thought to have connections with foreign intelligence agencies.

On October 26, 2024, a terrorist attack in the Gohar Kuh district of Taftan County resulted in the deaths of ten members of Iran’s law enforcement forces.

The Jaish al-Adl terrorist organization took responsibility for the attack, which ranks among the most lethal in the province.

The organization has executed a multitude of terrorist assaults in Iran, mainly in Sistan and Baluchestan. The terror group strategies include the kidnapping of border guards and the targeting of civilians and police stations in the region to provoke chaos and unrest.
