Policeman killed, three wounded in clash with terrorists in southeast Iran

One police officer has been martyred and three others wounded during clashes with armed militants in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran.

The four police officers were on a security patrol when they were attacked by militant elements in the city of Zahedan on Wednesday.

Officer Mohammad Reza Nezam-Doost lost his life on the line of duty due to the severity of his wounds.

Also, in the town of Rask, militant elements attacked a vehicle belonging to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The goal of the attack was to damage the vehicle but due to IRGC officers’ timely response, the militants failed in their attempt.

Meanwhile in southwestern province of Khuzestan during a security and intelligence operation on Wednesday, the police arrested a militant responsible for organizing riots during the January riots in Iran.

The suspect made hand-made fire bombs and threw them at banks and ATM machines, as well as giving Molotov cocktail to other rioters.

He is also responsible for armed attack against religious places and wounding two police officers.
