Top officials at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Iran’s national broadcaster, have strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s killing of two prominent Lebanese journalists while in the line of duty on Saturday.
Peyman Jebelli, the IRIB chief, extended heartfelt condolences to Al-Manar TV and Al-Mayadeen TV over the martyrdom of their journalists, describing the correspondents as symbols of resistance whose work exposed the crimes of the Zionist enemy.
In a message to Al-Manar TV on Saturday, Jebelli honored the memory of martyr Ali Shuaib, a veteran Lebanese journalist whose lens and voice, he said, had long exposed the tyranny of the Zionist regime.
“Among the proud achievements of resistance media is that it has always been and continues to be on the front lines against the enemies of the nation,” Jebelli said.
“Today, a new picture of criminal hatred has been drawn through the targeting of a symbol of resistance media – the martyr Ali Shuaib. Through his lens and voice, he exposed the tyranny of the Zionist enemy for many years, challenging the criminal war machine with his courageous stances.”
Jebelli offered condolences on his own behalf and on behalf of all IRIB staff to the management and employees of Al-Manar TV, to Shuaib’s family, and to all journalists and correspondents in resistance media.
“We hope that this martyrdom will mark the beginning of victory over our American and Zionist enemies,” he added.

In a separate message to Al-Mayadeen TV, Jebelli mourned the loss of young and brave war correspondent Fatima Fatouni, who was also killed in the same “treacherous attack” on a group of journalists covering the war in southern Lebanon.
He described Fatouni as a courageous field journalist who embodied the spirit of resistance.
“She stood courageously in the field to convey the truth of Zionist criminality and brutality in its attempt to assassinate the word of truth, with the aim of silencing this voice that we consider part of the battle against the American and Zionist enemies today,” he stated.
The IRIB chief vowed to continue the fight in the arena of resistance media “no matter how great the sacrifices.”
Ahmad Noroozi, the head of IRIB World Service, also issued statements honoring the memory of the two martyred journalists and condemning the cowardly war crime.
In a message to Al-Manar TV, Noroozi condemned the targeting of resistance media while noting that this was not the first such attack by the Zionist regime.
“Once again, the treacherous Zionist enemy has attacked the resistance media body, targeting a media figure who was a beacon of truth and a voice conveying the reality of Zionist treachery and criminality against Lebanon for decades – the martyr Ali Shuaib,” he said in his message. “He represented a voice full of defiance against the occupation.”

Noroozi extended his condolences to Al-Manar TV management and staff, to Shuaib’s family, and to all resistance media workers, expressing hope that the martyrdom would herald “a stage of victory over the aggressors.”
In a separate message to Al-Mayadeen TV, Noroozi described Fatouni as a courageous voice who long conveyed the truth of the Zionist enemy’s war crimes in Lebanon.
“This is not the first time the Zionist regime has attacked our colleagues in resistance media,” the IRIB World Service chief and Press TV CEO said. “The latest is our mujahid colleague Fatima Fatouni, whose courageous voice in conveying the truth of the brutal enemy and its war crimes has resonated throughout Lebanon.”
“We hope that Almighty God, through the blessing of her blood and that of other martyrs, will grant a swift and complete victory to Islam and Muslims.”
