Bushehr nuclear plant hit for 3rd time amid ongoing US-Israeli aggression, no damage reported
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirms that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in the country's south has been struck by a projectile, marking the third attack on the facility during ongoing unprovoked American-Israeli aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.
In a statement on Friday, the AEOI said the projectile hit the plant earlier in the day, saying initial reports indicated that the incident caused no human, financial, or technical damage.

"Preliminary assessments indicate that, despite the projectile hitting the plant’s premises, no sections of the facility were harmed," it said.
The plant is fully operational and contains significant quantities of radioactive materials, the statement noted, warning that any damage to the facility could lead to a serious nuclear incident with irreparable consequences for the region.

The statement emphasized that targeting peaceful nuclear facilities constituted a clear violation of international regulations and obligations regarding the immunity of such centers from military attacks.
The AEOI had referenced the attacks in another statement earlier in the day, lamenting inaction on the part of international bodies, especially the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in the face of such "savage acts," and calling the inertia "astonishing."
Also on Friday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi highlighted targeting of Iran's civilian infrastructures during the aggression that began late last month.
He pledged that Iran would be exacting a "heavy price" for the Israeli regime's attacks on the infrastructure, besides reminding that the strikes contracted US President Donald Trump's claim that he had extended a self-described pause in aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.
