The Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have successfully concluded the large-scale Combined 1404 military exercises across Iran’s southern coastlines and strategic islands.

The drills have been described as a sophisticated display of modern warfare technology and updated tactics designed to counter contemporary threats facing the nation.

The exercises integrated multiple military branches, utilizing cutting-edge hardware and innovative combat strategies.

During the maneuvers, Rezvan loitering drones were deployed for reconnaissance and target acquisition.

Once objectives were identified, the mission was handed over to Shahed-136 suicide drones, which executed precision strikes on pre-determined targets.

Operational layers of the drills focused on a robust defense scenario for Iran’s shores and Persian Gulf islands.

IRGC Special Forces took lead roles in coastal defense operations, practicing maneuvers to intercept and repel any hypothetical enemy attempting to approach the shoreline.

This phase included the use of proximity-fuse artillery, shore-to-sea fire to neutralize maritime threats, and heavy barrages aimed at suppressing enemy positions.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, General Mohammad Karami, Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces, emphasized the readiness of his units.

“Proper measures have been designed in various sectors, including missiles, artillery, drones, special forces, armored vehicles, and armored personnel carriers,” Karami told state television.

He said the designs for these operations were specifically tailored to address existing regional threats.

In a separate sector of the maneuvers, missile units debuted systems characterized by their diversity and range.

A highlight of the demonstration was the successful launch of a high-precision penetrator missile.

Commanders said these new systems are equipped with advanced navigation technology, ensuring pinpoint accuracy even under intense electronic warfare conditions.

The missiles feature reinforced warheads designed to breach enemy bunkers and armored columns with high efficiency.

The high-profile drills were held against the backdrop of complex regional diplomacy.

Washington and Tehran recently concluded two rounds of Oman-mediated talks aimed at reaching a new framework for Iran's nuclear program, with further discussions scheduled for February 26.

US President Donald Trump has pursued his "maximum pressure" policy, deploying naval and air power to the region and issuing threats of attacks.

Iran has vowed to give a crushing response to any kind of military attack, even limited ones.

Last week, Iranian naval forces conducted military drills in the Persian Gulf and around the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
