A new protest against Israel's participation in the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches was held on Monday outside Italy's Football Federation headquarters in Rome.
Protesters called for Israel's suspension over its genocide in Gaza.
We can't pretend nothing happened in a time of genocide. Our government is an accomplice to this genocide. The match should not be played at all.

We are showing the red card to Israel because a genocidal apartheid, land grabbing entity has no right to participate in international sports events.
Football is being used to sports wash Israel's war crimes, while the regime should be banned from all competitions.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has brushed aside calls for Israel's suspension from international football by indirectly addressing it as a geopolitical issue at the FIFA Council meeting earlier this month.
Such calls, however, have been renewed even after a ceasefire took effect in Gaza on Friday.

Extraordinary security measures were in place ahead of the Italy-Israel match as a large pro-Palestinian march went ahead on the day of the game.
According to Italian media, over 350 associations and more than 10,000 people were expected to take part in anti-Israel protest marches in Udine on Tuesday evening.
Less than 10,000 tickets were sold for the qualifier at the 25,000-seat Stadio Friuli and there appeared to be fewer people inside the stadium than at the demonstration.
The World Cup qualifying match between Italy and Israel, which Italy won 3-0, was played in the northeastern city of Udine on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.
The match drew more pro-Palestinian protesters in the surroundings of the stadium than football fans inside the arena.
