Zionist 'silent occupation' of Cyprus

There is growing concern about Zionists buying up land and properties in Cyprus to create Jewish-only gated communities on this strategically located island in the Mediterranean Sea.

This land grab has reportedly included a whole village on at least one occasion, which has apparently been turned into a Jewish-only enclave.

This is the same playbook the Zionists used 150 years ago when they started buying up the land in Palestine and then only selling it to other Jews.

This unwelcome Zionist invasion has prompted understandable opposition in Cyprus, where local people are asking what these aggressive land purchases are really all about.

The Zionists are engaged in a silent occupation of Cyprus, that's the view of the country's main opposition leader, Stefanos Stefanou, head of the left-wing AKEL Party, and he's not alone in that view.

In recent years, citizens of the Zionist entity have become significant real estate buyers in Cyprus, with government data between 2021 and 2025, ranking them as the fourth largest group of foreign purchasers in many of the country's districts.

These acquisitions have happened in a concentrated way, leading to the creation of gated Zionist communities that include new synagogues and Jewish schools.

This type of gradual legal land acquisition mirrors the Zionist movement's early colonization of Palestine in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Those settlements eventually formed the backbone of a hostile Zionist takeover of historic Palestine.

In June 2025, at a congress of the country's AKEL party, which serves as the island's main opposition, Secretary General Stefanos Stefanou publicly highlighted these purchases, stating that Israelis were making targeted acquisitions near sensitive locations and establishing closed communities.

He warned that “without action, one day we'll find this country is no longer ours”, saying that Cyprus could become Israel's backyard.

And in May 2026, Cypriot member of the European Parliament, Fidias Panayiotou, stated that Israel was effectively buying Cyprus through real estate and development projects.

In October last year, Shimon Aykut, a Zionist land developer, was sentenced to five years imprisonment for illegal development and sale of properties on Greek Cypriot-owned land in the Turkish-occupied north of the island.

This disregard for legal norms in the pursuit of land is nothing new for the Zionists and could be part of a historic Zionist plan.

One of Zionism's founding fathers, Theodor Herzl, once explored Cyprus as a possible site for what he called a "Greater Palestine".

But the Zionist takeover of Cyprus found an even greater advocate in Davis Trietsch, who supported a maximalist Zionism that would include taking Cyprus.

Today's Greater Israel Project is the successor to all of these Zionist fantasies, and the possible motivations for the Zionist entity are clear, given Cyprus's strategic location, as well as the access it provides its citizens into the European Union.

The past few years have demonstrated the danger of underestimating long-term Zionist strategic goals and the level of resources they are prepared to invest to spread their malign influences across the globe.

Well, David, what else do we know about this? Is there more evidence to suggest that these Zionist land purchases threaten sovereignty, rather than simply being a straightforward foreign investment?

Well, as you might imagine, no, they're not a straightforward foreign investment. There is an actual colonization process underway, and it has many dimensions to it.

The establishment of synagogues and other Zionist institutions on the island is part of it. The Chabad network, of course, has outposts in Cyprus, and so that's all part of that.

But we should think of this in a wider context, I think, because if you look back at the history of Zionism, the Zionists from the beginning were interested in Cyprus. On the one hand, some of them thought that Cyprus was part of Eretz Israel, the land of Israel, according to the Bible.

On the other hand, Herzl, the founder of the Zionist movement believed that it was possible to possibly create a Jewish colony in Cyprus from where they could then invade Palestine at a later time and eliminate and expel the natives.

They didn't do it that way, but that's one of the things they thought about.

So that's one aspect to it: the historical and expansionist aspect to it, but another aspect to it, of course, is the relationship between the Zionist entity and the regime there, and its expansionist aims in terms of trade routes and dominance in the region.

So they have this thing called the India-Middle East Economic Corridor, which is intended to move goods through Israel from India through Saudi and up through Cyprus and into Europe.

So it's an attempt to dominate trade routes and, of course, to contest the other trade routes which are being developed, in particular by China, so that that's also part of it.

There have been meetings between both the president and the prime minister of Israel and the prime minister of Cyprus to develop this project. So there's clearly an economic strategic aspect of this, as well as a direct colonization aspect.

What advantages might an EU member island state close to the Zionist entity offer as a backyard or alternative base of operations?

Well, a very large one, because Greece, of course, is a member of the European Union. A lot of Greeks themselves would like to see reunification with the North, Cypriots regard themselves as Cypriots, but of course, the North is occupied by Turkey, and Turkey has been identified as a potential enemy of the Zionist entity.

So, what they're really doing is gaining a foothold in the European Union with tremendous influence in the democratic rally government of the Greek half of Cyprus.

I also want to draw attention to the Great Intersea Connector, which further embeds the Zionist entity in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Now, this is a power cable, originally due to run simply from Greece to Cyprus, but which is now due to be extended to Israel. It's a huge infrastructure project.

It's just been given the thumbs up by the United States State Department this week, and is the recipient of a tremendous amount of investment from Meridian, a French infrastructure company.

So, in these ways, Israel is becoming embedded as a key player in the Eastern Mediterranean, and that's very much their objective.

Basil Valentine, Broadcast Journalist

David, I wonder whether you might elaborate further on the strategic value of Cyprus for the Zionists.

So in addition to the economic strategic interest, which I mentioned a moment ago, there is also a geopolitical interest.

So, if you look at the activities of the Zionists and of Jewish settlement in the region, the wider region, in particular, you see in almost all of the countries bordering Turkey, increased Zionist involvement.

Of course, if you draw a circle around Turkey, Cyprus is part of that circle, and of course they're even investing and trying to involve themselves even in Italy, in Albania, and round through the Balkan states. Many of the Balkan states have involvement from the Zionists.

So this is in part an attempt to colonize certain areas. In part an attempt to encircle Turkey, because as you remember, Turkey has nuclear reactors.

Syria doesn't have a nuclear reactor anymore, Iraq doesn't have a nuclear reactor anymore, because they were both bombed by Israel, and so that that's part of it.

But there's also a geostrategic interest, in particular, as we've seen the renewed interest and knowledge about the control of the Strait of Hormuz off Iran between Iran and Oman.

We also see the concomitant attempt by the Zionists to try and control sea waterways; Cyprus is an example of that, but also round the coast.

You find that the involvement of Kushner in Albania in an ex-military Soviet submarine base, is at a very narrow point between the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Sea, and immediately across the sea from there, at the narrowest point in the heel of Italy, there are also similar Zionist adventures, including setting up Jewish-only settlements there.

So it looks like there's an attempt to move actually beyond West Asia and to start to try and influence and colonize key choke points throughout Eastern Europe and other parts of the Asian continent.

David Miller, Academic

Cyprus is a former British colony, where Britain still has a military base, from which Britain was flying secret spying missions over Gaza engaging in target selection on behalf of the Israeli military, so that kind of reinforces the strategic value of this particular location, doesn't it?

Yes. Akrotiri and the other British base Dhekelia, of course, have been involved in all sorts of nefarious activities by the British, and of course, we've just seen recent documents released, I think, through declassified UK, which was shown that there's an acknowledgement within the British government that they make sure that they keep what happens in Akrotiri secret, so that they don't have to reveal to anyone what's happening there.

Of course, that will mean activities which are under international law illegal and which they shouldn't be doing, including, of course, direct support for the genocide in Gaza, which has been revealed in quite a lot of public interest reporting.

So, what should be happening there, of course, is that these bases should be shut down.

I remember when I was in Cyprus last; those bases take up a huge area of the southern coast of Cyprus. They're British sovereign territory, and that, of course, should be revoked. They should become Cypriot territory, and the Cypriots should chuck the British out.

But that's not going to happen unless there's a focused effort to try and protest them and to expose what they've been doing. And of course, there have been attempts to do that by Cypriots in recent years.

David Miller, Academic

Indeed, given the revelations regarding some of the contributors to the new Prime Minister of the UK, Andy Burnham, who has received donations from prominent Zionists in his leadership bid for the party, it is unlikely that Britain will be intervening anytime soon about this Zionist invasion that's taking place.

That's right. Of course, it's not likely. But politics is an unpredictable game; if the British public, or indeed the Cypriot public, were sufficiently riled up and angered about this, things could change.

So the involvement of Andy Burnham in the receipt of Zionist money, which of course almost all of the money he's got come from Zionist sources, from Lubner, from Chinn, from Sainsbury, etc.

That's one thing, and the other thing, of course, is the involvement by the British in allowing the Americans to use heavy bombs to fly from RAF Fairford to bomb civilian infrastructure in Iran again-a war crime-and laughably described by Burnham as being defensive strikes.

These are not defensive; these are aggressive strikes, which are against international law and should be stopped.

David Miller, Academic

There must certainly be a lot of disappointed people who were perhaps hoping that Andy Burnham would be turning a page on the Starmer regime rather than the continuation of Starmerism.

What does Cyprus tell us about the ways in which Zionism is expanding and evolving into a global imperialist movement?

Well, the recent focus on Cyprus and the large number of Israelis moving there is indicative, really, of the failure of the Zionist project in Palestine, because large numbers of Israelis went to Cyprus looking for a safe haven, given the volatile situation with respect to the wars against Palestine and Iran prevailing in the Zionist colony at the moment.

So yes, it represents an expansion of Zionist interests, but at the same time also indicates the weakness of the Zionist project in Palestine.

Elsewhere, of course, Zionists are also looking to set up colonies in Argentina, in other parts of South America, where they have gained ground diplomatically in recent weeks, particularly with the changing government in Colombia.

But it isn't all doom and gloom; as David said, once populations decide that they do not wish to become the subject of Zionist colonies, which often rubs people up the wrong way.

This is another thing in Thailand and last week in Iceland.

Israeli tourists often find themselves on the end of, shall we say, some disapproving treatment from locals and natives, and that's very often because of the arrogance they display themselves.

In Iceland, only last week, Israeli tourists were trying to take down pictures of Palestine in a Palestinian-owned cafe and were dealt with summarily.

So we don't want to see that kind of opprobrium.

But the simple fact is that genocide is the ultimate crime, and Israelis worldwide seem to think they can get away with it.

Basil Valentine, Broadcast Journalist

When you talk about a global Zionist imperialist movement, they seem to want to close that down claiming it's anti-Semitic to talk in those terms, and certainly the Zionist movement can use anti-Semitism as a way of suppressing discussion about these matters.

What do you make of that and how should people respond?

Well, Zionist politicians themselves crow about the fact that they've got such a stranglehold over Western governments.

They back both sides in Britain, Conservative Friends of Israel and Labour Friends of Israel, of course, Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Whoever ends up in power, you get Zionists.

The current cabinet is absolutely stuffed full of Zionists, and Reform is even more Zionist with people like Robert Jenrick, who wants to see an Israeli flag at all ports of entry into the UK.

So you know it's impossible to divorce what's happening in Palestine from the wider Zionist power configuration, particularly among the emergent far right, with Marine Le Pen's national rally being just one example of a far right party, the AfD in Germany being another, both of them absolutely wedded to the Zionist cause.

Basil Valentine, Broadcast Journalist

Yes, indeed, and it's more important, therefore, isn't it, to actually talk about this in the terms in which you've just outlined; otherwise we're sleepwalking into an even worse situation than what we are in at the moment, aren't we?

Yeah, we're just dancing round the handbags unless we're willing to look at the fact that we're dealing now with 60, 70, 80 years of what I call the three Bs: bribery, browbeating, and even blackmail, in order to get Western politicians to do their bidding.

And it's going to take a long time to unpick this because, Richard Tice, for example, the reform MP, claimed that even the committee room conversation about Israeli influence in British politics was anti-Semitic.

It's as if you cannot discuss Israel in a mature way in the context of British politics without being accused of anti-Semitism, and that's obviously complete nonsense.

Basil Valentine, Broadcast Journalist

Given the historical interest shown by Zionist figures like Theodor Herzl in Cyprus as part of a wider settlement vision, it seems pretty clear that this Zionist land acquisition in Cyprus is absolutely part of the Greater Israel project, doesn’t it?

Well, yes, I mean I did mention Hertzel before, and the early thinking that they would start from there, and of course the thinking in some Zionist circles that Cyprus is actually part of the land of Israel, the so-called land of Israel.

But look, this is a, as the phrase you've been using, a global imperialist project is better I think than the than the question of Greater Israel because even if you included Cyprus in Greater Israel, Greater Israel doesn't extend even in the wildest ravings of the most insane Zionists, doesn't extend to Greece.

It doesn't extend to Italy, doesn't extend to Albania. To all those countries that used to make up the former Yugoslavia and did right to Bulgaria and Romania, both of which have strong relations now with the Zionist entity.

So this is about a progression from the idea of Greater Israel to the colonization or control of the whole West Asia, and indeed way beyond that into Europe.

And of course, we see what's happening, as Basil's been mentioning, in Latin America, not just in terms of the settlements in Argentina, but also, of course, the way in which there are; are there any countries now in Latin America which are anti-Zionist now that we've seen the decline and fall of Venezuela?

So, and of course, you see it with the US; Netanyahu's speech just the other day, talking about how “we initiate, we attack, we surprise, we kill, we will rise and, we will kill them”.

I mean, this is a declaration of war against the whole world.

And in that speech, he also, of course, talks about the role of the US military, the US Navy, and the US Air Force as a proxy of the Zionists, which of course is what they are.

They have this new agreement, which is well known, which people talk about as a merger of the US military and the Israeli military.

But there's no such thing. It's the takeover by the Israelis of US resources.

There is no such quid pro quo whereby the US air force can access help from the Israelis; it is only one way, and that, of course, is the direction of travel and the direction of power is that the Zionists have the whip hand in this.

And of course, as Basil has been mentioning, these three Bs, including, of course, blackmail.

That's part of it, but it's only a small part, really, of the overall infiltration of Western states, most obviously America, but also France, Germany, the UK, and most other Western European countries are, effectively there's a chokehold on our policies by the Zionist entity, and there are complex reasons for that.

But what we're seeing is a much more than just the question of pressure of Israel, much more than just the question of controlling West Asia.

This is an attempt at global imperialist domination.

David Miller, Academic

And this global imperialist domination is obviously centered on the political class, on the establishment in different countries around the world.

But they are not winning over the hearts and minds of ordinary people.

As mentioned numerous times politics is a moving beast and things can change, and talking specifically about Cyprus, if the protests, which are significant in Cyprus about this unwelcome Zionist invasion, get to such a pitch, then things could change.

I wonder what you make of the strength of feeling that local people, Cypriot people, their opposition there and their protests against what's happening.

Well, there needs to be, and there is, a movement against Zionist power. It's not as effective as it needs to be, but we also see that the Zionists themselves are talking about becoming a world power.

As long ago as the 1950s, Moshe Dayan talked about the Zionists as being an empire, and in January this year, for example, Netanyahu talked about turning Israel into a regional power and, in some respects, a global power.

Now, the respects he's talking about there are in the areas of tech and AI.

Now, the purpose of those, of course, apart from to make money in some areas, the purpose of those is to control populations, to control the populations who are thinking that they might challenge the power of Zionism in their own societies, or indeed the genocide in the Levant.

That is the purpose of this whole tech startup strategy involving hundreds and thousands of former Unit 8200 intelligence veterans from the entity.

And the purpose of this is to make sure that it's not possible for us to mount any effective opposition to them, because they will be up on our phones, they will they will be able to share all the data, and that that will mean that popular protest is eliminated.

That's their aim. Of course, I don't know that it's going to be successful, but that is their aim.

David Miller, Academic

Indeed, and certainly people in Cyprus are railing against this Zionist land grab, that they're seeing unfolding before their eyes. We will have to wait and see how that develops.

In October 2025, the Zionist property developer, Shimon Aykut, was convicted for illegal construction on Greek Cypriot land in the disputed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised, should we that these characters are prepared to resort to nefarious methods to acquire land if they can get away with it?

Yes, and just last month it was confirmed he is still serving his sentence in an Israeli prison. We don't know under what conditions.

More recently, of course, we've had this village which has been taken over by Zionists, and the church there, according to Melanie Steliou, a leading protester, journalist, and actress, was to some extent desecrated by Zionists.

The village is located in an area of particular scientific interest ecologically, and the new owner completely disregarded all that and has gone ahead with rebuilding the village in spite of the fact that he hadn't got the required permissions in advance, but the government of Cyprus, the Greek Cypriot government democratic rally, is very much in cahoots with the Zionists, this is the thing, contrary to the will of most people.

Basil Valentine, Broadcast Journalist

In the Western world, it seems the political class is out of touch with the electorate.
