Two perpetrators have raped a woman from the Sikh community in the UK and told her to go back to her country, India.

“You don’t belong in this country, get out,” were the words attackers used against her.

The UK police on Friday released an appeal for information about the rape and confirmed the incident was being treated as a racially aggravated hate attack.

Chief Superintendent Kim Madill, of Sandwell Police, said, “We are working really hard to identify those responsible, with CCTV, forensic and other inquiries well underway.

“Incidents like this are incredibly rare, but people can expect to see extra patrols in the area,” she claimed.

The rape took place off Tame Road, a short distance from the constituency office of Gurinder Singh Josan, MP for Smethwick.

The MP said, “I understand the strength of feeling within the community this attack has generated... truly horrific attack.

“The community needs to allow the police to progress with the investigation.”

The suspects are described as two white men. One is said to have a shaved head, wearing a dark sweatshirt with gloves. The second wore a grey top with a silver zip. Police urged anyone who may have seen these men to come forward.

The woman’s rape follows the assault of two elderly Sikh men by three teenagers outside a railway station in Wolverhampton less than a month ago.

The two elderly Sikh men were seen on the ground, being kicked repeatedly by one of the teenagers until he was pulled away by another one of them.

The British society has, over the past decade, witnessed a substantial and sustained increase in violence attributed to poverty, inequality, and a lack of opportunities for frustrated youth.
