Iran military might
The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has issued a stern warning to Iran's adversaries. Major General Mohammad Pakpour said any miscalculation by enemies of Iran will be met with a decisive, swift, and regrettable response. General Pakpour made the comment in a message to Defense Minister, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, on the occasion of the National Defense Industry Day. He stressed that the Iranian armed forces remain vigilant and fully prepared to safeguard the country’s independence, national security, and territorial integrity. Pakpour also touched on the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran. He said the experience of the 12-day sacred defense once again proved that bolstering the country's defense power in all areas and reliance on domestic capabilities prevents enemies from achieving their malicious objectives, and deters them from any new adventurism. He stressed that by relying on these capabilities, the Islamic Republic is now standing at the peak of its deterrence power.
US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Israel’s genocidal war rages on unabated across the Gaza Strip, with Gaza City being the main target of the regime’s latest strikes. Eight Palestinians, including four children, were killed, and 14 others injured after civilians were targeted in the Al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City. An earlier strike in the same neighborhood killed three civilians. Israeli artillery also shelled Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing a young girl and injuring several others, including children. Separately, five Palestinians were killed after Israeli forces fired at aid workers and security personnel in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. Medical sources say nearly 20 starving aid seekers were killed by Israeli forces on Thursday, raising the number of aid seekers killed so far to over 2,030. Two more Palestinians also died due to malnutrition, increasing the number of victims of Israel’s starvation policy to more than 270, including 112 children. The death toll from the Israeli genocide is nearing 62,200, with more than 157,100 others injured.
Israel settlement plans
Israel’s approval of a major settlement construction plan in the occupied West Bank continues to draw widespread international condemnation. More than 20 countries, including members of the European Union, have condemned the plan, demanding its immediate reversal. The condemnation came in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of 21 countries, including several members of the European Union and the EU commission, along with the UK, Australia, Japan, and Canada. They called the plan unacceptable and a violation of international law. They warned that the decision has no benefits for Israelis, and will only fuel further violence and instability. The foreign ministers demanded Israel halt settlement construction in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2334. The UN has already expressed its unequivocal opposition to the plan, affirming the illegality of Israeli settlements under international law. The plan was approved on Wednesday, and involves the construction of a new settlement on a roughly 12-square-kilometer area, known as E1, east of the occupied city of al-Quds.
