"Iran open to diplomacy"
Iran’s Foreign Minister says that before his country considers reengaging in negotiations, Tehran must be reassured that the United States will not misuse the talks for military aggression. In an interview with CBS News, Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed that Iran never closes the doors to diplomacy. Addressing US claims regarding “obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, Araghchi asserted that technological knowledge and enrichment capabilities cannot be eradicated through bombardment. He stressed that Iran possesses the capacity to swiftly recover from damage and resume progress. Araghchi further emphasized that Iran’s peaceful nuclear program has become a symbol of national pride and dignity so that the Iranian people will not easily relinquish it. He concluded by underscoring that Iran demonstrated its ability to defend itself during the twelve days of imposed war, and if the country is attacked again, it will respond in kind.
US-Isreal Gaza genocide
Israel has conducted more deadly air and artillery strikes across Gaza, as the besieged territory faces mounting destruction under unrelenting bombardment. Seven civilians were reportedly shot dead while waiting for humanitarian aid in central Gaza. In Gaza City’s al-Zaytoun neighborhood, shelling killed one person and injured several others. Another civilian was killed in a separate strike in Khan Younis. Israeli forces demolished an entire residential block in al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis, displacing many families. Heavy shelling and gunfire continue in eastern Gaza City. On Monday, in one of the deadliest attacks, the Israeli military struck a coffee shop near the Gaza coast, killing over 30 people and injuring dozens of others. The Israeli genocide in Gaza, which began in October 2023, has so far killed more than 56,500 people, leaving over 133,600 others injured.
US arms Israel
The US government has approved a fresh major arms sale to Israel, authorizing over five hundred million dollars in Joint Direct Attack Munitions guidance kits. The State Department and Pentagon have cleared the sale of more than seven thousand JDAM guidance kits to enhance the Israeli Air Force’s bombing capabilities. The timing of the sale is notable, coinciding with an upcoming White House meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump scheduled for next Monday. Meanwhile, congressional efforts, particularly from Democrats, have so far failed to restrict arms sales to Israel during the Trump administration.
