US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

At least 34 Palestinian civilians have been killed since dawn in Gaza as the Israeli military keeps pounding the blockaded territory with air and artillery fire. In one of the latest strikes, at least seven Palestinians were killed and several others injured west of Gaza City after Israeli warplanes bombed displaced Palestinians’ tents. In the very same area, an airstrike targeting a Palestinian home left a number of casualties. To the south and in Rafah, five people were killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire on Palestinians near an aid distribution center. An earlier strike on displaced families’ tents in al-Mawasi refugee camp in southern Gaza left a dozen Palestinians dead and around 40 others injured. According to Gaza health officials, nearly 54,70 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023 when the US-Israeli genocidal campaign against Gaza began. More than 125,000 others have also been injured.

US hostility toward Muslims

Tehran has strongly condemned the recent US travel ban, which bars entry for citizens from 12 countries, including Iran. Iran’s Foreign Ministry denounced the move as racist, discriminatory and a violation of international law. It emphasized that the decision reflects Washington’s deep hostility toward the Iranian people and Muslims. The foreign ministry called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to publicly oppose unilateral US actions. It also stressed that Iran would take all necessary steps to protect the rights of its citizens. Several other countries and organizations including the African Union, the Republic of the Congo, Chad and Venezuela have also slammed the US move. President Donald Trump, who signed an executive order for the visa ban, claims it is needed to protect the US from security threats.

Russia-Ukraine conflict

Ukraine says at least 5 people have been killed in Russian strikes on the cities of Kherson and Kharkiv. According to regional officials, a couple were killed after a missile hit a high-rise building in the southern city of Kherson. Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv, located in the northeast, was also pummeled by Russian strikes. Three people were killed and 17 others injured. The city mayor described it as the most powerful attack since the war began, with a barrage of missiles, and guided bombs striking simultaneously. In western Ukraine, a second victim was also found after Friday’s strikes on the city of Lutsk, near the Polish border. The Russian attacks come in response to a recent drone attack that struck Russian heavy bomber planes at air bases in Siberia and the far north.
