U.S.-Israeli Gaza genocide

The US-Israeli genocide in Gaza continues unabated. In one of the latest strikes, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians waiting to receive humanitarian aid near Gaza City. The attack happened on the Netzarim corridor, west of Gaza City. There are no immediate reports of casualties yet. Other Israeli attacks were also deadly. At least seven people, including children, were killed and many others injured after the bombing of a camp sheltering displaced Palestinians off the coast of Gaza City. A similar strike left over half a dozen people dead in the densely populated Al-Rimal neighborhood of the city. The Israeli bombing of a cellphone charging station in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City killed a father and his son. To the south, an Israeli airstrike targeting an area south of Khan Yunis killed several civilians. The US-Israeli genocide has claimed the lives of over 54,500 civilians, leaving nearly 125,000 others injured.

Gaza ceasefire talks

Hamas reiterates its readiness to engage in a new round of negotiations on the ceasefire in Gaza, but not on a basis of a proposal offered by the U-S special envoy. Senior Hamas official, Bassem Naim, said Steve Witkoff’s proposal contains vague phrases and fails to offer a clear guarantee for ending Israel’s war on Gaza. He added that the proposal was completely different from a previous agreement Hamas had accepted. He stressed that Hamas cannot agree to any deal that does not guarantee a stop to the war. Naim said all countries, including Israel’s allies, are now convinced that the regime's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is the one obstructing all ceasefire efforts. He stressed that Hamas will not miss any opportunity to end the war and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians, provided there is a guarantee of lasting truce. Hamas says any ceasefire deal must lead to a permanent ceasefire, a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and a sustained flow of humanitarian aid into the territory.
