US-Saudi strikes on Iraq
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi reportedly calls off a planned meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohmmad Bin Salman. The meeting, scheduled for Thursday in Jeddah, was canceled, following the joint US-Saudi aggression against Iraq. Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces had earlier condemned the strikes as terrorist attacks that violate the country’s sovereignty. The PMF stated that the strikes are a dangerous escalation. The PMF also reported that 20 people were killed and 32 others injured in the strikes across seven provinces. Iraq's Al-Nujaba resistance movement also slammed the aggression, calling for the expulsion of US forces from the country and an end to all cooperation with Saudi Arabia The movement vowed retaliation against US and Saudi interests. The US Central Command claims that the joint attacks with Riyadh were in response to drone strikes on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Iran Hormuz Strait control
A senior Iranian military commander says there will be no movement in the Strait of Hormuz without Iran's authorization. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said Iran’s Navy has full control over the eastern Strait of Hormuz, the northern Indian Ocean, and the Sea of Oman. He added that Iran's Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps are firmly positioned in the Hormuz Strait. Earlier, the IRGC Navy said its forces have targeted and stopped three violating oil tankers that ignored their warning and chose an unsafe route to transit the strait. The naval forces of the IRGC further warned that any illegal interference by the US terrorist Army in the region won’t go unanswered.
Oil prices rise
Crude oil prices have risen sharply after US President Donald Trump threatened to strike Iran again. Brent crude surged more than 6.5 percent, climbing above 89 dollars a barrel. The jump followed Trump’s threat that Iran would be beaten hard. His remarks came after Iran’s IRGC Aerospace Force launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at a US air base and Central Command headquarters in Jordan. In a statement, the IRGC said the operation was in retaliation for US terrorist army aggression against Iran. It warned that attacks would continue as long as the US maintains its threats and its illegal actions against Iran.
