US economic war on Iran

Russia and China have both rejected US President Donald Trump's threat of escalating sanctions against Iran. In a social media post, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna said Iran has lived under US sanctions for decades. Mikhail Ulyanov said Iran demonstrated its ability to withstand maximum pressure during Trump's first term. He said Washington has chosen the wrong way, adding that positive results are possible only through honest diplomacy. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman has also criticized the US economic campaign against Iran. Lin Jian said sanctions and pressure are not the solution, calling for a diplomatic and political approach. Their remarks were made after Trump warned of "an economic D-Day" against Iran. The Islamic Republic has described the threat of heightened sanctions as economic terrorism and a crime against humanity.

Israel West Bank crimes

Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian man in the West Bank city of Jenin as the regime’s violence and crackdown against the people of Palestine continue unabated. The victim, identified as Fathi Khazem, was shot directly inside his home during an Israeli raid into Jenin. He was the father of two martyred Palestinians who were killed by the regime’s troops in 2022. Elsewhere in Jenin, a 14-year-old Palestinian boy was shot and injured by Israeli forces. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews treated the child after he sustained live-fire wounds during a military raid. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers have set fire to a quarry in Al-Khalil. There are no reports of injuries. Israeli violence has intensified in the occupied West Bank in recent weeks. The violence has been perpetrated by both Israeli soldiers and settlers.

Tunis protest

A protest and march in Tunisia's capital have brought together citizens, political parties, organizations and activists to voice concerns over the country's deteriorating economic and social conditions. Water shortages and recurring power cuts amid extreme heat are among the main grievances, with protesters demanding urgent action from the authorities.
