Ops. Nasr-2 and Sa’eqeh: Iran’s retaliatory strikes against US military assets on July 24

In response to relentless US military aggression against southern Iran, which has primarily targeted civilian infrastructure, the Iranian armed forces continued their retaliatory operations on Friday.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), under Operation Nasr-2 (Victory-2), and the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, under Operation Sa’eqeh (Lightning), launched a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes against US military targets across the region on Friday, July 24.

These operations mark a new phase in Iran’s military response after the United States failed to honor its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), derailing diplomatic efforts and triggering a renewed escalation.

They follow Operation True Promise 4, launched after the US-Israeli coalition’s illegal and unprovoked war of aggression against the Islamic Republic that began on February 28 and lasted nearly 40 days. 

That campaign comprised more than 100 waves of missile and drone strikes targeting US and Israeli military assets across the West Asian region.

Although a subsequent ceasefire temporarily halted US-Israeli hostilities against the Islamic Republic, Washington’s continued violations of its commitments under the MoU and another wave of attacks on Iranian soil ultimately led to the resumption of military confrontation.

The following is a summary of the operations carried out by the Iranian armed forces on July 24.

IRGC (27th wave of Operation Nasr-2)

• The IRGC announced that the 27th wave of Operation Nasr-2 was carried out under the code "Ya Aba Saleh al-Mahdi (AS) Adrikni."
• According to the statement, advanced ultra-heavy loitering drones destroyed a massive ammunition depot at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait through successive explosions.
• The operation also struck personnel accommodation facilities at the base, completely destroying six large hangars, heavily damaging three others, and killing and wounding a large number of US personnel.
• The IRGC announced that it targeted three ammunition and equipment storage hangars at the US military base in Al Udairi, Kuwait, setting them on fire and destroying them.
• In a statement, the IRGC said it completed an earlier operation against an Amazon data center in Bahrain, describing it as a key intelligence facility supporting the US military.
• It said the remaining building at the site was destroyed during the latest wave of attacks.
• An operation also struck the watchtower of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, causing extensive damage.
• The IRGC announced that another operation under the same code "Ya Aba Saleh al-Mahdi (AS) Adrikni" targeted Al Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The strikes inflicted major damage on several fighter aircraft stationed at the base.
• The operation also destroyed a US military accommodation facility, killing and wounding several American personnel.
• In a separate operation, IRGC destroyed a Patriot air-defense system, a US spy balloon and accommodation facilities used by American military in Erbil.
• The IRGC stated that the United States has suffered hundreds of fatalities and many more wounded over the past five months of war, and said Washington was concealing the true casualty figures from the American public.
• The statement called on American media organizations to investigate and expose the actual losses and financial costs of the war against Iran.
• The IRGC warned civilians in countries hosting US military bases to remain at least 500 meters away from concealed and covert accommodation sites used by American military personnel.
• According to the IRGC, many US officers and troops had abandoned their bases and relocated to buildings in urban areas to direct military operations.
• The IRGC said punitive retaliatory operations would continue.

Iranian Army (24^th and 25^th phase of Operation Sa'eqeh)

• The Iranian Army announced that the 24th phase of Operation Sa'eqeh targeted US military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan.
• According to the statement, Arash drones struck fuel storage tanks, equipment warehouses, large equipment hangars and accommodation facilities of the US military at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
• The operation also targeted aircraft shelters, aircraft maintenance hangars and accommodation facilities used by US forces at Al Azraq Air Base in Jordan.
• The 25th phase of Operation Sa'eqeh targeted multiple US military facilities in Kuwait.
• According to the statement, Arash drones struck equipment warehouses of the US military at Camp Al Udairi.
• The operation also targeted the accommodation facilities of US troops at Camp Doha.
• Iranian drones additionally struck the deployment area of US forces at Camp Arifjan.
• The Army said the operation was carried out in response to continued aggression by the United States.
• The statement stressed that Iran would continue its intensive drone and missile operations.
