Iran’s negotiating team has arrived in the capital Tehran after a two-day trip to Switzerland, where talks were held with the United States, with the aim of ending the war.

The negotiating team, led by Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, returned to Tehran on Monday afternoon.

Esmail Baghaei, who was accompanying the Iranian delegation, told reporters early on Monday that the Swiss talks were focused on monitoring the implementation of US commitments under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 18.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi praised Pakistan and Qatar for their "tireless" mediation efforts, saying major progress has been made toward ending the war on Iran, but that the "real test" will be the successful implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon.

In a post on X on Monday, Araghchi added that oil and petrochemical exports are waived, blockade lifted, some frozen assets released, and major reconstruction and development plan launched for Iran.

During its stay, the delegation engaged in intensive and continuous talks that began on Sunday morning and lasted until early Monday, spanning nearly 18 hours.

During this period, the Iranian side held bilateral and multilateral meetings with Qatari and Pakistani mediators, as well as an 80-minute quadrilateral session with the American side.
