Attacking army forces shows Israel’s hostility toward all of Lebanon: Iran
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman says the targeting of Lebanese army forces by the Israeli enemy once again confirms that the regime's hostility is directed toward all of Lebanon.
In a post on his X account on Saturday, Esmaeil Baghaei expressed condolences for the martyrdom of three Lebanese army personnel during an Israeli airstrike targeting their vehicle on al-Khardali road in southern Lebanon.
"The targeting of Lebanese army forces by the Israeli enemy once again confirms that the occupying regime's hostility is directed at all of Lebanon, including every component and segment of the country,” he said.
He added that the enemy “makes no distinction between an army soldier, a resistance fighter, and a civilian — just as it makes no distinction between a child, a woman, and an elderly person. Anyone living in this land is the target of its aggression, and all of Lebanon is a witness to its crimes,"
He offered condolences to the families of the martyrs, the army command, their comrades, and the government and people of Lebanon for the martyrdom of Lebanese army forces the Israeli attack.
He added that the martyrdom of Brigadier General Wissam Sabra, Captain Eli Khoury, and Soldier Hassan Ghazal constitutes a clear crime against Lebanon, its army, and its sovereignty.
He described it as an aggressive and clear message that Israel does not want security, stability, or prosperity for Lebanon.
"Honor and glory to the martyrs, and shame upon an enemy that recognizes no limits in killing, transgression, and crime against others,” he further said.
Earlier in the day, a brigadier general and a captain, as well as a soldier were martyred after an Israeli strike targeted their military vehicle on al-Khardali road in southern Lebanon.
In a separate attack, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported that six people were killed and four others injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Saksakiyeh in the Sidon district of southern Lebanon.
Another person was killed in a drone strike targeting a car on the highway in Deir al-Zahrani in Nabatieh, it added.
The Israeli army continues its attacks on Lebanon despite a fragile ceasefire with Lebanon.
