Iranian leadership on Monday reaffirmed the country’s military preparedness and political cohesion, warning that any further aggression by the United States or its allies will be met with a “decisive and crushing” response.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said the country’s armed forces remain fully battle-ready, as a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution also stressed that the United States, having lost on the battlefield, “will never win in diplomacy” against a more unified and resilient Islamic Republic.
Tehran underscored that its proposal to permanently end the war is rooted in legitimacy and international law, not concessions, while stating that Washington is clinging to “unreasonable demands” shaped by Israel.
Meanwhile, global markets continued to feel the impact of America's strategic miscalculations, with oil prices surging as the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed.
Key developments on day 73 of the war, the thirty-fourth day of the ceasefire:
- Iranian Parliament Speaker and lead negotiator Qalibaf declared the Islamic Republic’s armed forces are battle-ready to deliver a crushing and regret-inducing response to any aggression, warning enemies that mistaken strategies will only bring them disastrous results.
- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, Iraq’s senior-most Shia religious authority, for his generous support toward the Islamic Republic of Iran and those affected by the recent US-Israeli war of aggression
- Ali Akbar Velayati, former foreign minister and top advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said the US will never be able to win in diplomacy against Iran after it lost on the battlefield.
- Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Iran's proposal for ending the recent war was reasonable, as the US continues to insist on "unreasonable demands" shaped by the Israeli regime. "We did not demand any concessions. The only thing we have demanded is Iran's legitimate rights," Baghaei said.
- Head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami told lawmakers the issues of nuclear technology and uranium enrichment are not on the agenda of any possible negotiations with the United States, as Tehran insists the talks must focus only on ending the war in the region.
- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed important developments on the Pakistan-mediated diplomatic process between Iran and the United States, as well as key regional issues, with his Saudi and Egyptian counterparts.
- Iran's High Council for Human Rights called on the United Nations to recognize US officials behind the deliberate and dastardly attack on the Iranian Dena destroyer as war criminals.
- Iran’s integrated air defence network destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone over the southwestern region of the country, the Iranian Army’s public relations office announced.
- Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad refuted US claims that its so-called naval blockade on Iran has caused a major decline in the country’s oil production.“Industry experts are laughing at US claims. Which explosion are they talking about?” he said.
- Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of Ansarullah’s media office, warned that the United States must bear the consequences of rejecting Iran’s latest proposal to end the war, following negative remarks by US President Donald Trump.
- China firmly rejected the latest sanctions imposed by the United States on three of its companies over allegations of enabling Iranian military operations, vowing to protect its businesses from illegal and unilateral restrictions.
- French President Emmanuel Macron ruled out any unilateral French military deployment in the Strait of Hormuz amid the US-Israeli war on Iran.
- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned that the US-Israeli aggression against Iran poses great risks for his country, urging citizens to curb fuel use, reduce overseas travel, and pause gold purchases.
- At least six more people were killed and several others wounded as Israeli occupying forces carried out a series of attacks targeting multiple areas in southern Lebanon.
- Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called on the US to pressure Israel into halting its violations of a ceasefire agreement.
- Shmuel Zakay, the chief of Israel’s civil aviation, warned that Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv has effectively turned into a “US military base,” disrupting civilian flights and threatening Israeli airlines, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
- Despite a ceasefire between the United States and Iran following a 40-day US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic, major international carriers from Europe and the United States continue to suspend flights to the Israeli-occupied territories, Israeli media reported.
- Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the Israeli regime's military chief, warned regime lawmakers that the military urgently needs more forces as it continues to wage war on multiple fronts, according to Hebrew media reports.
- The US has drawn down its munitions stockpiles so deeply during the war with Iran that it could be left vulnerable to other conflicts, Democratic Senator Mark Kelly said on Sunday, describing the situation as “shocking.”
- America's most influential neoconservative commentators, Robert Kagan, said the United States has suffered a "total defeat" in its ongoing war against Iran, which has permanently shattered its global standing.
- Oil prices rose by more than $4 per barrel on Monday as US actions contributed to a continued stalemate, leaving key shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz largely disrupted.
