Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has warned the world’s arrogant powers to learn from history, as divine intervention delivered yet another crushing defeat to the United States in Isfahan—much like its humiliating failure in Tabas 46 years ago.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian commemorated the anniversary of the United States’ crushing defeat in the Tabas desert in April 1980, when the so-called Operation Eagle Claw to retrieve American spies held in Iran ended in disaster amid unexpected sandstorms.
“This day revealed the triumph of the Divine Will over any other will,” the president said.
“This year,” he added, “by the grace of God, another Tabas was recorded in southern Isfahan, proving that the God of Tabas’s sands remains the Guardian of this nation.”
The president further warned the aggressors to learn from history, or they will be forced to witness the repetition of such humiliating defeats.
Iran’s Judiciary Chief says the US lacks the capability to impose a naval blockade on Iran, stressing that Americans’ defeat in Tabas, and recently in Isfahan, would be repeated in the Persian Gulf.

In his remarks, the Iranian president referred to a US operation in early April 2026, which resulted in a crushing defeat as American commando units were swiftly intercepted and neutralized by an immediate engagement from Iranian forces.
The mission, purportedly intended to rescue the pilot of a downed American fighter jet, ended in disaster as Iran’s Armed Forces managed to destroy two US C-130 transport planes and two Black Hawk helicopters near an abandoned airport in southern Isfahan, where US forces attempted a covert landing.
Reports indicate that at least five US military personnel were killed, while others fled the scene in remaining aircraft, leaving behind sensitive equipment and documentation.
