Iran's integrated air defense network has successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple advanced US cruise missiles in the skies near Tehran as well as the airspace over the Markazi Province.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday amid the Islamic Republic's underway defensive and retaliatory measures in the face of the latest bout of the United States' and the Israeli regime's unprovoked aggression targeting the country that began late last month.

The statement carried by the Corps' Public Relations Office noted that in the past hours, advanced IRGC air defense systems operating under the unified national air defense network successfully intercepted and destroyed two AGM-158 cruise missiles in the vicinity of Tehran.

The AGM-158 (JASSM – Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) is a long-range, stealthy cruise missile developed by Lockheed Martin for the US Air Force. It is designed to penetrate advanced air defense systems and has been deployed as a key weapon throughout the unlawful aggression.

In a separate operation, IRGC air defense units tracked and destroyed an additional AGM-158 cruise missile over Markazi Province in central Iran.

Iran's Armed Forces have struck at least six enemy warplanes and downed around 200 drones and cruise missile since the onset of the aggression.
