Following an order by the Iranian Army's chief commander Major General Amir Hatami, 1,000 strategic drones have been officially inducted into the combat organization of the Army’s four branches.
The drones, developed in line with emerging threats and based on lessons learned from the US-Israeli aggression in June, were manufactured by Army specialists in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense.
They include various classes of drones—combat, offensive, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare—designed to destroy specific fixed and mobile targets across land, sea, and air domains.
Speaking after issuing the order to integrate ground-based and sea-based drones on Thursday, Major General Hatami said, “In accordance with future threats, maintaining and enhancing strategic advantages to ensure rapid combat readiness and delivering a decisive response to any aggression or aggressor has always been on the Army’s agenda.”
Iranian military experts and engineers have, in recent years, made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient.
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which is entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiation.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and expand Iran’s defense capabilities.
