Trump says Iron Dome is US technology, not Israel’s

US President Donald Trump has said that the Iron Dome anti-rocket system, widely deployed by the Israeli regime in regional wars, was developed by the United States, and Tel Aviv should not portray it as an Israeli technology.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday, Trump said he had told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “stop taking credit” for the Iron Dome.

“We did it for Israel, and by the way I told Bibi, ‘Bibi stop taking credit for the dome, that’s our technology,'” Trump said.

This follows Israel’s frequent portrayal of the Iron Dome as a domestically developed system, despite acknowledging significant US funding and collaboration with American defense firms.

“What we did for Israel was amazing,” Trump said, adding that the US plans more advanced systems for “the United States, Canada and the rest of the world.”

He said the US will “build a dome like no other,” while referring to a proposed project called the Golden Dome which aims to create a satellite network capable of detecting, tracking, and potentially intercepting incoming missiles.

The planned system, estimated to cost $175 billion, is intended to counter potential missile threats from Russia and China.

NATO warned over Greenland

In his speech at Davos, Trump also warned members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) not to obstruct his plans to acquire Greenland.

He repeatedly criticized European allies and expressed his intent to “get Greenland, including right, title and ownership,” while insisting no force would be used to take the Danish territory.

Trump’s controversial interest in Greenland has revealed strains within NATO, an alliance formed at the beginning of the Cold War and long considered one of the world’s most steadfast partnerships.
