Tehran slams Berlin's 'duplicity'

Iran has rebuked Germany for what it calls “blatant double standards” on human rights following criticism from Chancellor Friedrich Merz over Tehran’s leadership. Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, accused Germany of hypocrisy, saying it was “perhaps the worst-placed” to lecture Iran on human rights. His comments came after Merz questioned the legitimacy of the Iranian government, claiming it was nearing collapse. Araghchi slammed Germany’s position on Israel’s actions in Gaza, arguing that Berlin’s credibility was “obliterated” by its support for Israel’s military campaign. The top diplomat said “When Iran acts to protect its citizens from terrorists, Germany condemns it but what does Mr. Merz have to say about the killing of 70,000 Palestinians in Gaza?”

The teams, directed by the Israeli regime, had received specialized training abroad on sabotage and assassination. A significant amount of weapons and explosives has been confiscated.
