Israel Beirut attack

The Israeli regime has launched a new attack on Lebanon, targeting Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiya in a dangerous escalation. The strike hit a residential building in El-Hara area, causing widespread damage. Lebanon's health ministry says at least 5 people have been killed and over 20 others wounded in the attack. Israeli Prime Minister’s office says the target of the air raid was Hezbollah chief of staff Haytham Ali Tabatabai who was leading the resistance group’s efforts to build up its strength. The attack is the latest flagrant violation of the ceasefire Israel signed with Lebanon a year ago to end the war. Israel has been carrying out near-daily strikes on southern Lebanon and has also attacked the capital Beirut several times, but the capital was not hit in the last several months.

Lebanon reaction

Reactions are coming in following Israel’s latest act of aggression against Lebanon. Officials and groups across the region are condemning the strike on Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiya. Mahmoud Qomati, Deputy leader of Hezbollah political council, added that today’s strike on the southern suburbs opens the door to an escalation of assaults across Lebanon. Lebanon’s President, Joseph Aoun, called the attack on Dahieh a clear sign of Israel’s disregard for repeated international appeals to halt its assaults, urging urgent global action. The Palestinian Resistance Movement, Islamic Jihad, also blamed the international community for enabling Israel’s actions. Ansarullah movement has strongly condemned the "criminal escalation" by Israel, calling it a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Gaza ceasefire violations

Gaza Government Media Office strongly condemns the Israeli violations of the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire, reporting nearly 500 breaches in just 44 days. The office said these violations constitute a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and the humanitarian protocol attached to the agreement. It stated that since the ceasefire came into effect, over 340 Palestinians have been killed in the regime’s attacks, with children, women, and the elderly making up the majority of the victims. The office also reported that among these violations, more than two dozen occurred on Saturday, resulting in over 20 Palestinian deaths and nearly 90 wounded. Meanwhile, hospitals in Gaza are running out of essential supplies, with stocks of gauze, antiseptics, thermometers, and antibiotics running low due to Israel’s intensified attacks. The director of nursing at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said there is little difference from the period before the ceasefire. Mohammed Saqr warned that there are daily crises and staff remains exhausted as they continue to receive many casualties.
