World slams Israel flotilla raid

Israeli naWorld slams aid flotilla val forces have seized the entire fleet of the Sumud humanitarian flotilla, which was en route to Gaza to break the blockade on the war-torn territory. Israel’s foreign ministry says all of the flotilla’s vessels have been blocked from breaking the naval blockade of Gaza. It says all detained passengers will be deported to Europe after being taken to Israel. The ministry, however, said one vessel still remains at sea which it vowed to intercept once it nears Gaza’s shores. Israeli forces violently raided the flotilla in international waters, detaining all activists on board, including Greta Thunberg and European Parliament member Rima Hassan. The Sumud flotilla is the largest attempt yet to challenge the Gaza blockade. The mission began nearly a month ago with more than 40 boats and 500 humanitarian activists.

Gaza civilian deaths

Israeli fighter jets also attacked aid seekers in the Bureij refugee camp, killing four people from the same family. An Israeli drone strike on the same area also left two people dead. Heavy artillery fire was reported in Nuseirat. Regime forces also continue to pound Gaza City from ground and air which is the focal point of the attacks. The death toll from the genocidal war has topped 66,200 with nearly 170,000 others injured.

European trio criticized over snapback

Russia says the restoration of UN sanctions against Tehran is a Western-driven illegal action that has deepened the crisis over Iran's nuclear program. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said the so-called snapback mechanism was never properly triggered, and claims to the contrary are a deliberate distortion of reality. Maria Zakharova also criticized Western powers for fueling confrontation under the guise of diplomacy. The UN reimposed its sanctions on Iran on September 27th, following a process initiated by three European parties to the JCPOA. Tehran says it will respond to the move.
