Resistance against Israel
Hezbollah's Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has deemed the Israeli strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar as a perilous escalation. He characterized it as an Israeli-American aggression and a further step towards the ‘Greater Israel’ project. Sheikh Qassem asserted that Resistance serves as the steadfast barrier against this project. He praised Palestinian resistance, referring to the recent operation near occupied al-Quds as bold and courageous. On the domestic front, Sheikh Qassem urged all Lebanese citizens to unite, proclaiming that the ongoing resistance represents a historic milestone and a source of strength. He emphasized that stopping Israel's offensive, ensuring its withdrawal, and facilitating reconstruction are Lebanon's foremost priorities. He pledged that the resistance will not forsake Lebanon even if the world stands united against it.
Iran-IAEA agreement
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran’s security concerns have been taken into account in the recent agreement between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Abbas Araghchi was referring to the legislation by Iran’s parliament that suspended cooperation with the agency after the US-Israeli attacks on its nuclear facilities in June. The law placed the Supreme National Security Council in charge of coordinating Tehran’s nuclear engagement with the IAEA. Following the June attacks, Iran insisted on a new framework for cooperation with the UN nuclear agency, stressing that the framework should address safety concerns for its sites and personnel. The Tehran-IAEA agreement was signed in Cairo on Tuesday. The head of the UN nuclear agency praised the deal as a step in the right direction.
