‘Previous agenda out of question’

A senior Iranian political figure has told Press TV that Iran is rethinking its approach to nuclear negotiations and will not enter new talks using the same framework or agenda. Referring to the US request to resume negotiations, the source emphasized that any talks must align with the real security dynamics of the region. He expressed skepticism about the US intentions for peace, stating that the goal of Washington is to disarm Iran to compensate for Israel’s weakness in the next potential war. The political figure added any new negotiations must include serious and practical guarantees, including scrutiny of Israel’s nuclear and WMD programs, credible punishment of the regime and compensation to Iran. He stressed that in the absence of these conditions, negotiations would merely serve as a prelude to war. He added Tehran is willing to 'offer another opportunity' but requires evidence that US negotiator Witkoff is pursuing peace rather than escalation.

Israel Syria aggression

Iran has strongly condemned Israel's military attacks on Syria as deliberate acts of aggression. The Iranian UN ambassador described Israel's attacks as a dangerous escalation by a regime that is occupying parts of Syria in flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter. Amir Saeid Iravani was addressing a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Syria. He said Israel is the most serious and dangerous threat to regional peace and security due to the regime’s continued acts of aggression, and the unconditional political and military support it receives from the US and its Western allies. Iravani said Israel's attacks on Syria are a direct result of the Security Council's silence and the international community's failure to take deterrent measures. He said the regime has never faced any consequences for its repeated violations of international law, and continues its aggressive actions with complete impunity. Iravani urged the Council to fulfill its responsibilities, and hold Israel accountable for its violations. He stressed that the Council’s continued inaction will only embolden the aggressors to continue their crimes.

US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Israel's indiscriminate air and artillery strikes kill more Palestinians across the besieged Gaza Strip, with aid seekers being among the main targets of the regime's attacks. One of the latest strikes killed five civilians, including a child and a woman, and injured many others after tents for displaced people were hit in the Mawasi area of the southern city of Khan Yunis. Several Palestinians were also killed in Israeli strikes on various areas of Gaza, including the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City. Two separate airstrikes killed five people and wounded many others in the northern city of Jabalia, and northwest of Gaza City. Nearly 30 Palestinians were also killed after Israeli strikes targeted hungry people seeking aid at aid distribution points. The number of aid seekers so far killed by the regime's forces has risen to nearly 880. The death toll from the Israeli genocide is now near 58,670, with about 140,000 others injured. The fatalities include more than 7,800 civilians killed since the resumption of the regime's strikes on Gaza in March.
