Yemen army gains
The Yemeni armed forces say a large-scale military operation they launched earlier in September against Saudi-backed forces made several achievements. Yemeni armed forces have successfully expelled Saudi troops from six districts in Taiz and Hodadida governorates. According to a new statement by the Yemeni armed forces, seven military divisions of the Saudi forces were targeted, inflicting heavy losses on their troops. The Yemeni forces also hailed the liberation of their prisoners held by Saudi mercenaries for years on the western coast. According to the statement, Yemeni forces carried out over thirty operations to intercept Saudi warplanes and shot down nearly ten aircraft. The statement came after the armed forces confirmed they took control of Dhubab town, north of Bab al-Mandab, further expanding their control over the entire Red Sea coastline.
Admission on Iran strike
Iran's Foreign minister says the country’s armed forces have indeed reduced the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain to rubble, the same thing they did to other bases supporting US aggression. Abbas Araghchi was reacting to remarks by Acting US Navy Secretary Hung Cao, who has said 'the Iranian military blew the hell out of the US base in Bahrain'. The Iranian top diplomat said American people should not bear the cost of Israel’s wars. Meanwhile, a new report suggests that Iran's recent retaliatory strikes on an American base in Jordan have damaged multiple US military aircraft. The new report, citing a US official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Iran's attack hit one A-10 Thunderbolt 2, known as the Warthog, leaving it with a missing wing, while damaging roughly eight F-15 fighter jets.
Oil prices climb
Global oil prices have continued to climb steadily this week, with Brent crude nearing 110 dollars, as the US aggression on Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz reduce supply. While prices keep fluctuating, Brent crude trades at around 105 dollars a barrel after briefly reaching nearly 110 dollars, the highest level in four months. West Texas Intermediate also climbed above 103 dollars after gaining more than six percent on Thursday. The impact is also being felt in the United States, where diesel prices have surpassed six dollars a gallon, raising fears of higher inflation and putting further pressure on consumers ahead of the midterm elections.
