Genocide in Gaza

Israel has conducted more deadly air and artillery strikes across Gaza, as the besieged territory faces mounting destruction under unrelenting bombardment. Seven civilians were reportedly shot dead while waiting for humanitarian aid in central Gaza. In Gaza City’s al-Zaytoun neighborhood, shelling killed one person and injured several others. Another civilian was killed in a separate strike in Khan Yunis. Israeli forces demolished an entire residential block in al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis, displacing many families. Heavy shelling and gunfire continue in eastern Gaza City. On Monday, in one of the deadliest attacks, the Israeli military struck a coffee shop near the Gaza coast, killing over 30 people and injuring dozens of others. The Israeli genocide in Gaza, which began in October 2023, has so far killed more than 56,600 people, leaving over 133,600 others injured.

Israeli illegal settlement expansion

The Israeli regime is set to approve the construction of new settlements in the occupied West Bank. The regime will review a plan to build 267 new housing units across two settlements, one located southeast of Bethlehem and the other near Ramallah. The left-wing Israeli organization "Peace Now," which closely monitors settlement activities, has raised alarms about the plan describing it as part of an unprecedented trend toward settlement expansion. Peace now warning that if approved, the plan could establish a dangerous precedent for further settlement growth. The United Nations has repeatedly called for an immediate halt to Israeli settlement expansion in occupied Palestinian territories that's in violation of international law.

Syria sanctions relief

The United States has lifted sanctions on hundreds of Syrian individuals and entities following an executive order signed by president Donald Trump. The order grants relief to 518 sectors deemed essential for Syria’s development and reconstruction. The decision comes amid a strategic reassessment of Syria’s interim leadership. Trump has also directed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to review the terrorist designation of Abu Mohammed al-Jolani who led the military campaign that ousted Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. The US previously labeled Jolani a global terrorist due to his past affiliations. The realignment is closely tied to efforts to expand Washington's so-called Abraham Accords. With Israel expressing readiness to normalize ties with both Syria and Lebanon, the US is actively working to bolster Israeli security and create a buffer of cooperative states surrounding Tel Aviv.
